2019 dev industry report from HackerRank is out there
“Programming is like art — both the process of writing code and the code in itself. Converting an idea that only existed in your head into reality is an unparalleled feeling. It’s a kind of mindfulness that keeps you in a state of flow when you love the work you do.” — Vivek Ravisankar, Co-founder & CEO at HackerRank
The 2019 report based on 71,281 developers survey was published recently and it’s good, so good.
So what’s there for us? As usual we are keeping track of all the trenda nd vectors the dev industry is taking in order to keep the curriculum up-to-date and prepare graduates with most in-demand and efficient skills to start new career.
First thing first — JavaScript is still the king leading as the most popular language in the world.

With strong and steady growth React is “poised to overtake AngularJS in 2019” with latter being the older bro not giong anywhere yet but with less exciting perspectives for the future.

What is more exciting is the graph for “Frameworks developers want to learn in 2019” where React is the clear winner. (And there is a place where you can learn React too).

The gap in the frameworks hiring managers want vs. frameworks developers know is still enormous for React (explains the fact our graduates got hired almost on the spot after finishing the bootcamp):

So just to confirm — React is the way to go — breath out, relax and start learning.
P.S. The biggest peeves are universal ones — badly written documentation
and spaghetti code. Let’s leave spaghetti to the kitchen and write better docs — make the world a better place, right?
